Not Putin (Up with this)

Praying for Ukraine
We do support Ukraine in their continuing David and Goliath struggle with Russia. However, we are also sorry for the Russian people having to endure world condemnation of Putin’s attack on Ukraine. This brutal conflict has no shortage of victims.
Breakfield toured Russia in 2011 from Moscow to St. Petersburg. He met many of the locals, dined in their homes, and discussed their goals and aspirations. From this experience, he reports they are warm and generous people that share information about their lives with open transparency. It was humorous at the time when tour guides pointed out that the Ministry of Forestry was actually a weapons manufacturing depot near Moscow. The people encountered spoke frankly of their history and their hopes for the future.
End of WWII Celebrations
Ironically, Breakfield witnessed their May 8–9 parade celebrating the end of WWII in St. Petersburg square. The city closed businesses and focused on all their veterans to honor in the parade. Impressive as that was, more amazing was that our guide leaned over to say a people’s prayer — We hope Putin is NOT elected President. He will be bad for this country.
Breakfield finds it sad to realize her prayers went unheard. But he believes there are more like-minded people, like that…
