imone marveled at friends crowded into the family room, all chatting simultaneously. “Wow, look at all these people, Trev! I didn’t know Boss and Annie knew so many.”
Trevor frowned at her, then raised his glass-filled hands higher. “Yeah. What a thirsty bunch at that. It’s so crowded in here we’re automatically the servers. I’m shuttling empty and then filled glasses with their favorite beverage. Ugh! Some of this stuff tastes nasty.”
Simone stopped her foot and stood up straight, squinting straight at him. “You’re not tasting other people’s drinks, are you?”
Trevor smirked. “Ha! Made you look. No. I’m not tasting this stuff. The fumes that come off of these drinks are enough to peel paint. I hope I don’t spill any of this stuff on somebody. If I spill on anyone, they’ll end up like the wicked witch of the west in that movie.”
Simone looked around with concern. “Where do we keep the fire extinguisher? It might be good to have it standing by, just in case. Maybe a couple of buckets of water too, if they promise they aren’t witches.”
Trevor grinned and shook his head at her seriousness. “I don’t think they’d be drinking it if it was toxic. Oh, hey, Boss is calling us to help serve the snacks.”
Simone jutted out her chin. “The rain is ruining this parade. I’d rather set the snacks…
