Simone selected a photo from one of her best vacations. She recalled shifting around at the front of the raft but stopping whenever the craft bobbled. “Trevor, I seem so small on the river raft. Even the water cooler was bigger than me. How big is the Colorado River?”

“You were smaller then, even in the life preserver.” Adding a chuckle, he said, “But you looked adorable in your little hat. We had so much fun floating down the river and looking at the canyon walls. The Colorado river is more than 1400 miles long and extends through seven states in the U.S. and two states in Mexico. Boss plans great scenic vacations.” Trevor brightened and grinned. “Do you remember the Audad sheep we bumped into on the river? They were as surprised as us.”

“Yeah,” she snickered at the imagery, “but we weren’t climbing and jumping over one another to get back up the hill. Funny watching them trying to escape on the tiny rocky path.”

“The falling gravel and rocks peppered the water making small ripples across the still water.”

“I had fun floating down the Colorado River, but what about us doing some local rivers? Maybe Texas waterways don’t have the cliff walls like in Colorado, but couldn’t we raft on a river like the Brazos?”
